Rev. Joyce Piper

Pr. Joyce Piper has been a synod minister in SW MN Synod since January of 2004, having served pastoral calls in this synod since 1987.

Pr. Joyce's bachelor's degree in English education with a Scandinavian Studies minor is from the University of Illinois. She lived in Norway for 7 years and her sons, Phillip and Christian, were born there. Her MDiv is from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She has a PhD in Family Social Science / Family Therapy from the University of Minnesota and is a certified Spiritual Director.

Pr. Joyce's husband, Pr. Dave Mesner, serves as lead pastor of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Duluth. They especially delight in being grandparents for Ava and Ella who live in Seattle. Joyce also enjoys gardening, hiking and camping in the BWCA, knitting and reading.
